What Ron Zalokar leaned at Monmouth College he put to good use at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.

Zalokar started coaching athletics at Carthage in 1960 and served as head wrestling, track and women’s tennis coach and defensive coordinator of the football team. His career highlights are many, including eight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships in football and two NAIA divisional semifinal appearances. He started the school’s wrestling program and went on to see it produce a national champion. As a track coach, he had another NCAA champion, and as a tennis coach, he guided the Pioneers to two CCIW women’s tennis titles.

Zalokar, a member of the Carthage College Athletic Hall of Fame, gives much of the credit for his success to his MC football coach Glenn “Jelly” Robinson.
