Bob McKee was a four-sport athlete, winning 10 letters. An end in football, he was named first team All-Midwest Conference squad during his junior and senior seasons. He was chosen co-captain of the all-state football team for his senior year. McKee earned the nickname “The Quick Brown Fox” for his 72-yard punt return for a winning touchdown in the fourth quarter against Cornell in a 14-13 victory in 1956. The feat was reported in the Chicago Tribune and Sports Illustrated. McKee was later drafted by the world-champion Baltimore Colts and played wide receiver behind standout Raymond Berry

McKee, one of “The Three Macs,” was selected to the conference’s second team during the Scots’ championship basketball season in 1956-57. He also was the MWC 120-yard high hurdle champion in 1957 and 1958. In addition to his athletic laurels, McKee was an outstanding student leader.
