There may never be another Fighting Scot who has a women’s track and field career as brilliant as seven-time All-American Constance Jackson. If there is, there is going to be one very happy Monmouth coach.

In 2001, Jackson earned the highest NCAA finish by a Monmouth woman, placing second in the 200-meter dash at the national outdoor meet. She added two more All-American honors in the 200 and four in relays.

A product of Peoria’s Woodruff High School, Jackson sprinted to a school-record 30 Midwest Conference titles, including a record six at the 2001 indoor meet. Sometimes, she achieved victory by herself in times such as 12.24 for 100 meters and a school-record 24.25 for 200 meters. Sometimes, she did so with a baton in hand, as she is part of MC’s fastest 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 squads. And sometimes, Jackson simply took off and flew, soaring to four long jump titles, with a best of 18’5-3/4.
