Jack McIntosh won five Midwest Conference championships in outdoor track between 1927-29, a feat which, at the time and for the next several generations, was the best in MC history. With two MWC championships in the pole vault and three in the high jump, he was for many years the only man to capture five championships in outdoor field events.

McIntosh established himself as the most versatile athlete in the Midwest by winning the all-around track championship at the University of Illinois in 1929. His victory established Monmouth as the smallest school ever to win the event.

Continuing his interest in sports after graduation, McIntosh served as a track and football official. McIntosh taught in secondary schools in Denver, Colo., for 40 years and also served in the Navy, retiring as a commander.
