Roger Rasmusen was a two-time All-Midwest Conference basketball player and a two-time conference champion in the pole vault for the Fighting Scots.

During his sophomore and junior seasons, Rasmusen was the second leading scorer on the team behind fellow all-time great, Pete Kovacs. He led the team in scoring his senior year and completed his three-year varsity career with 735 points.

Rasmusen won the pole vault event at the MWC meet as a freshman and as a sophomore, helping the Scots win the 1954 team title. He also turned his talents to the gridiron, earning varsity letters as a fullback during his sophomore and junior years. Due to his responsibilities as president of the Student Association, Rasmusen did not play football during his senior year.

He graduated third in his class in 1956 and started a long tenure as a member of Monmouth College’s Senate in 1974.
