Nobody could catch Dori Ternig on the track during her four-year career with the Fighting Scots, and no one has caught her since.

The All-American sprinter from Mokena still holds the Monmouth and the Midwest Conference 100-meter dash record, which she set at the 1994 MWC meet. Her time of 11.98 seconds has not been beaten in 16 years. She also blew away the competition at that meet in the 200-meter dash, winning by a half-second.

Ternig continued to excel (and accelerate) at the national level that year, taking seventh in the 100. She added top eight 4x100 performances at the NCAA meet in 1995 and 1996 for a total of three All-American honors. In 1996, she qualified for nationals in three events, including two relays and the 200-meter dash. At the time of her induction, Ternig is fifth on Monmouth’s honor roll in the latter event (25.37) and is also fifth in the outdoor 4x100.
