Hall of Fame
One of a handful of MC athletes to play in both NCAA basketball and baseball tournaments, Bill Seiler was a prolific scorer for the Fighting Scots on the hardwood and a top player for two of Monmouth’s Midwest Conference baseball champions. Seiler was twice named to the first-team All-MWC basketball squad, and for good reason. His scoring knack led to 1,330 career points, the second-most in school history at the time he graduated. In 1985, the team MVP guided the Scots to the conference championship, averaging 21.3 points. Monmouth also reached the MWC title game two other seasons and was 60-35 with Seiler in uniform. The shortstop was also used to winning on the diamond, as Monmouth was 63-30 in his four campaigns. He batted .362 for his career and twice topped the .400 mark. In 81 games, Seiler had eight homers, 10 triples and 62 RBI.
