    Men's Basketball, Coach

For more than half a century, Edgar Saville was involved in almost every aspect of Monmouth College athletics. As a guard for the basketball team in the early 1920s, he was a dedicated athlete and a steady performer. In 1935, he returned to his alma mater for a year, serving as physical education instructor and freshman basketball coach. For the next 40 years, he kept in close touch with Monmouth College, officiating football, basketball and track. He was also a member of the M Club and the Monmouth College Athletic Board.

After graduating from Monmouth in 1925, Saville taught high school and coached basketball and track at Kirkwood and Fairview until 1935. Following his year of coaching at his alma mater, Saville became a pioneer in the rural letter carrying profession, a job he held for many years.
