Monmouth never trailed after jumping on top in the first two minutes and pulled away in the second half to forge a tie for the Midwest Conference lead with an 83-60 win at Ripon.

The Scots entered Friday night's game trailing the Red Hawks by just a game in the league standings and jumped on the Hawks for a 24-16 first quarter lead. The Hawks stayed within striking distance in the first half closed the gap to trail by just three at 33-30 going into the half as both teams went scoreless over the final two minutes of the second quarter.

Monmouth came out firing in the second half, scoring on each of their first six possessions en route to outscoring the Red Hawks 27-16 in the third quarter. The Scots turned up the heat in the fourth quarter with a 9-for-13 effort from the floor and stretching their lead to 20 points in the final  four minutes to pull into a tie for the league lead with Ripon at 9-2.

Carley Turnbull led Monmouth with a 30-point night – her first of the season – on 8-of-17 shooting and a 13-for-14 effort at the line.
Becca Gallis pumped in 21 with a 4-for-6 performance from the 3-point line while
Kaitlyn Osmulski and Shane Smith added 10 each.
Jordan Kintigh cleaned the glass with a game-high 11 rebounds.
