Monmouth came back from a halftime deficit and hit their free throws in the final minutes to clip Beloit 63-61 Saturday in Beloit, notching their fifth straight win, staying in second place in the Midwest Conference.

Trailing 28-25 at the half, the Scots pulled even and then took the lead with just under five minutes left in the game.
Dee Hyler's inside bucket gave Monmouth a 53-51 edge and less than a minute later
D.J. Swift sank a pair of free throws to add some cushion. The Bucs climbed within one at 55-54 at the 3:05 mark before Hyler drained a 3-pointer on his way to a 14-point day.
Justin Batterton then added a 3-for-4 effort from the line in the final 2:06, including the icing 'throw with one second left on the clock. Batterton's final points came after Swift sank two free throws on his way to an 11-point effort to give Monmouth a 62-58 lead with 49 seconds left.

Batterton led all scorers with 24 points, making 8-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the line.
