Monmouth held defending league champion Aurora to just single goals in the first and third quarters, but didn't find the net themselves in a 16-0 loss in Wednesday night's home finale.
 
The Scots defense surrendered 13 shots in the opening period, but allowed just one score. They duplicated the feat in the third quarter, but the Spartans took advantage of their chances in the second and fourth quarters with seven goals in each frame. Grant Miller suffered the loss in goal, turning aside 12 of the Spartans 28 shots on goal.
 
Monmouth wraps up their season Saturday with a noon contest at Benedictine.
