Monmouth handily won a pair of matches with Loras, but the close contests went the Duhawks' way to defeat the Scots 7-2 Sunday.

Joseph Shie and
Zach Harris picked up quick wins in singles after the tandem suffered a narrow 8-7 loss at No. 1 doubles. Shie rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles and Harris posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.

Playing at No. 2 singles,
Andrew Shie had the closest match of the day, coming back from a 7-6, Set 1 loss to even the match with a 7-6 win in Set 2. Shie was clipped in the tiebreaker 10-7.
Brendan Guenther also suffered a close loss. The freshman was edged in the opening set 7-5 before dropping Set 2, 6-2, the closest of the Scots' three, straight set losses in singles. No. 4
Alex Martin fell 6-1, 6-3 and
Nicholas Robertson dropped a 6-1, 6-0 match at No. 6.
