Monmouth managed just three hits in their home-opening loss to Eureka Wednesday afternoon at Glasgow Field.
The Red Devils scored one run on three hits in the first inning and added another unearned run in the sixth for all the runs they would need.
Connor McDonald suffered the loss, striking out five and scattering seven hits. Monmouth threatened in the third when
Jackson Van Iwaarden led off with a walk but was left stranded at third.
The Scots host Aurora Saturday in a 1 p.m. twinbill.
