Monmouth shook off Lawrence in the first quarter and never looked back in a 68-51 win over the Vikings to remain in a two-way tie with Ripon for first in the Midwest Conference.

After three ties and two lead changes,
Shayne Smith's layup-and-one with 3:20 left in the opening quarter gave the Scots the lead for good. The Scots opened up the offense in the second quarter and clamped down on the defensive end to outscore the Vikings 16-6 in the period despite hitting just 5-of13 from the floor. The teams played nearly even over the final 20 minutes as the Scots rolled to a 10-2 mark in the league.

Becca Gallis led all scoring with 24 points while
Jordan Kintigh recorded her first double-double with a career-high 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Carley Turnbull added 16 points.
