Monmouth erased an early six-point fourth quarter deficit to post a 64-54 win at Cornell to stay tied with Ripon atop the Midwest Conference standings.
Â
Jordan Kintigh scored six of her nine points in the decisive final 10 minutes. Her layup as the final period opened cut the margin to four at 47-43 and her free throw on the Scots' next possession pulled Monmouth within three. A missed Cornell layup on the Rams' ensuing possession was corralled by Kintigh and followed by
Shayne Smith's 3-pointer to knot the game at 47-all just two minutes in the quarter.
Â
The Rams used three straight free throws to regain a lead of three before Smith drained another from beyond the arc, pulling the Scots even at 52-52 with 4:17 to play. The Scots then took the lead and closed out the game with a 12-2 run as
Carley Turnbull drained a 3-ball to begin the Scots' final surge to improve to 11-2 in the MWC.
Â
Smith canned 5-of-7 from beyond the arc to finish with a game-high 21 points while Turnbull added 19. Kintigh added 10 rebounds to narrowly miss her second double-double after collecting nine points.
Yvonne Ornelas dished out a game-high seven assists, including five in the second half, all but one in the fourth quarter.

Monmouth travels to Grinnell Saturday for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Pioneers.
