Cadan Glattback turned in 12 saves in his goalkeeping debut for Monmouth, but the Scots came up just short in a 1-0 season opening loss to Webster.
 
The Scots' Lucas Sondgeroth nearly gave Monmouth an early lead, but the Gorlocks keeper turned in a diving save of his blast in front of the net in the 26^th minute. Playing much of the game at midfield, Webster found the only goal of the game just 12 seconds before the half.
 
Monmouth travels to Illinois Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. contest Saturday.
