Monmouth broke even on Day 1 of the Midwest Conference Crossover, defeating St. Norbert 10-6 in the day's first game, but falling to Beloit 13-3 in the nightcap.

The Scots broke open a close game against St. Norbert with four runs in the fifth inning to jump to an 8-2 lead. Bryson Sheppard opened the inning reaching on an error before the Scots collected five hits in the inning as the bottom part of the order did the damage scoring all four runs. Led by Matt Temaner and Mike Dato who each went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, the Scots banged out 14 hits in the contest. Leadoff man Jake Starkey also added a pair of RBIs. Tyler McDonald worked more than six innings, fanning seven and scattering five hits to pick up the win.

Beloit turned the tables on the Scots, pounding out 16 hits, one a second inning grand slam, to win via the mercy rule leading 11-3 in the seventh, the Bucs put their first two batters on and scored both to take the 10-run win. Bryson Sheppard picked up a pair of hits for the Scots who enter Sunday's final round at 6-4 in MWC South Division play.
