Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 A 10-day layoff due to adverse weather had no ill effects on the Fighting Scots who banged out 31 hits in an 11-1, 15-7 sweep of Iowa Wesleyan.

Asa Stevenson pitched five strong innings in the opener, allowing just one hit and one walk as the Scots gave him plenty of support with nine runs in the first three innings. Mike Dato's three-run homer in the six-run third proved to be the big blow as the Scots batted around. Harry Sanchez added a two-run shot in the sixth to give Monmouth a 10-run lead.

Ridge Greenman got the Game 2 win with help from an eight-run fifth. The Scots sent 13 men to the plate in the inning and banged out six hits - all singles. After a three-run second, Grant Myers slammed a two-run homer in the third as Monmouth led from start-to-finish.

Monmouth resumes Midwest Conference play Thursday with a noon doubleheader against Grinnell at Glasgow Field. The twinbill was originally scheduled for Saturday, but moved ahead to Thursday due to the forecast for inclement wether over the weekend.
