Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 An eight-run second inning by the Stars in Game 1 was too much for the Scots to overcome. After Monmouth scored in the first when Jake Starkey scampered home on a harry Sanchez infield hit, Dominican answered in their half of the inning. Dominican went on to score eight in the second and five more in the fifth to put the game away.
 
The Scots used a five—run fifth in the late game to split the twinbill. Trailing 5-1 in the fifth, Max Garey reached on an error, scoring Mike Dato, just ahead of Cameron Kellar's bases-clearing double. Monmouth took the lead when Starkey's single to right plated Kellar with the eventual winning run. Ryan Schulz went the distance on the mound, scattering eight hits to pick up his first win.
