WOMEN WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON WITH IOWA ROAD TRIP

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Monmouth geared up for the upcoming Midwest Conference Singles and Doubles Championships with a Sunday trip to Iowa where they faced a pair of the league's favorites..

The Scots were blanked in the day's opener 9-0 at Grinnell before a 9-0 loss to Cornell. Only No. 5 singles player Natalie Curtis was able to go three sets on the day. Competing at Cornell, the senior took the first set 6-4, but dropped Set 2, 6-3. Her Rams' opponent then edged Curtis 10-6 in the tiebreaker. Curtis and No. 2 doubles partner Rachel Leifheit dropped both matches by 8-2 scores, the same score as No. 1 doubles Emma Johanns and McKenzie DeVilder and No. 3 Lexi Tibbs and Haley Johnston's matchups with Cornell.  Johanns and DeVilder dropped an 8-1 decision at Grinnell where Tibbs and Johnston were defeated 8-0.

The MWC Championships open with doubles play Saturday in Janesville, Wis., singles competition is set for Sunday.
