FAST START FADES DOWN THE STRETCH FOR SPIKERS

The Scots jumped out to a 2-0 lead but couldn't get that third set in a 3-2 loss at Lawrence Saturday afternoon.

Monmouth took the first two sets 25-20, 25-16 before the Vikings rallied back with a 25-22 Set 3 win and followed with a 25-19 fourth set win. Lawrence eased out a 15-12 win in the decisive fifth set to offset the Scots' 20-kill day from Ashley Farris and 16 by Ali Gustafson.

The road trip continues for the Scots who travel to Illinois College Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. contest.
