Monmouth got balanced scoring, but not quite enough points in a 3-0 road loss at Illinois College Tuesday night.

Abby Tucker came off the bench to hit .278 with seven kills to lead the Scots who got six-kill nights from
Ali Gustafson and
Riley Cook. IC pulled away in the opening set, breaking out of what had been a one-point game until the match reached 10-9. The Lady Blues then went on a five-point run to open a gap they would increase for a 25-15 win.

The Scots came back strong in Set 2, rolling off five straight points for an early 6-2 lead. The teams proceeded to trade points until another IC run put the Lady Blues ahead for good at 10-9, eventually winning 25-14. IC then put the game away with a 25-18 third set victory.

Monmouth travels to Iowa this weekend, facing Midwest Conference opponent Grinnell on Friday before a Saturday noon date with nonconference Simpson.
