Box Score 2 Monmouth has moved into playoff mode after a 4-3, 8-3 doubleheader loss to Knox Saturday afternoon.
The Scots host the Prairie Fire for the final twinbill Sunday needed to sweep their rivals for a chance at the Midwest Conference playoffs.Monouth rallied back from a 3-1 deficit in Game 1 Saturday with a two-run fifth.

Bryson Sheppard scored on a wild pitch to knot the score at 3-3. Knox then took advantage of a hit batsman to open the bottom of the ninth and moved around the bases with a pair of hits. The Fire then plated the winning run with a two-out error.
Knox jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the nightcap and added two insurance runs in the fifth and eighth to complete the sweep to set up Sunday's games to decide the postseason for the Scots.
Monmouth trails Cornell in the race for the MWC postseason, but needs to sweep Knox on Sunday while the Rams must be swept by division winner Grinnell to force a tiebreaker which likely would fall in the Scots' favor.
