Box Score 2 Grant Myers accounted for 11 RBIs and a pair of homeruns as Monmouth banged out 28 hits to sweep Iowa Wesleyan 13-3 and 19-3 Sunday afternoon at Glasgow Field.

The Scots erupted for six runs in the third inning of the opener after trailing 3-0 to begin the onslaught. Monmouth batted around in the inning with the big hit a two-run single from
Jake Starkey. Myers began his RBI run in the fourth when his bases-clearing triple put the Scots in command 9-3. He added the exclamation point in the sixth with a two-run homer to support
Tyler McDonald who worked six innings and fanned seven to earn his second win of the season.

Monmouth kept the hits coming in the nightcap and again came back from an early 3-0 hole. Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the second,
Nic Stevens belted a two-run homer to left, knotting the game at 3-3. Five more hits came in the third, including a two-run double from
Ryan Sparks as the Scots moved to a 7-3 lead.

Myers – who finished with six RBIs – drove in three with a homer to right in the fourth as the Scots batted around in a nine-run inning to open up a 13-3 lead. Sparks piled on the score with a three-run homer in the fifth to match Myers' game-high six RBIs.

Jason DeCicco earned his first collegiate win, going six innings and fanning six.

Myers finished the twinbill 5-for-8 with a pair of triples and homeruns driving in 11 runs while Sparks added a 5-for-9 effort.

The Scots open Midwest Conference play Saturday at Grinnell then return home to meet the Pioneers on Sunday.
