Box Score The Fighting Scots got more than eight strong innings out of
Tyler McDonald in the Florida Spring Break finale, but Monmouth slipped in the ninth, falling to Kenyon 4-3 in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

McDonald allowed just six base runners through the first seven innings before the Lords broke through with for runs over the final two innings. The Scots took the early lead when
Dayton Ince scored on an error in the bottom of the first as the Scots sent seven batters to the plate in the opening frame.
Jake Starkey gave Monmouth another run in the fifth, driving in
Austin Hardy with his two-out hit.

Kenyon pulled within 2-1 in the eighth when they put their leadoff man aboard and moved him to third with double. He then scored on a groundout before McDonald induced another groundout to end the inning.

Monmouth got the run back in the bottom of the inning as
Mike Dato led off with a base hit and moved to third on
Tyler Ulfig's sacrifice bunt and then scored on an error to give the Scots a 3-1 lead heading into the ninth.

After a strikeout opened the Kenyon ninth, the Lords followed with fourth straight hits, plating all three runs to take a 4-3 lead.

The Scots threatened in their half of the inning when Hardy drew a one-out walk and
Zach VanWassenhove singled to left, moving Hardy into scoring position. Kenyon then induced a fly out and a pop up on the infield to close out the game.

McDonald was saddled with the loss after fanning six and walking no one while giving up 10 hits and four runs.

Monmouth will resume action Mar. 25 at MacMurray.
