th straight year, the Bronze Turkey will spend Thanksgiving at Monmouth after the Fighting Scots gave their Homecoming crowd a 52-10 win over Knox.

Yansay Williams hauled in eight passes for a game-high 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Scots put 29 points on the board in the second quarter after falling behind in the first period on a Knox field goal. The Prairie Fire took advantage of Monmouth's lone fumble, converting the first quarter miscue into a 24-yard field goal for their only lead of the game.

The middle quarters belonged to the Scots who racked up 49 of their 52 points in the middle frames. Jacolby Maxwell scored his first of two TDs for the Scots on a 43-yard run early in the second period and added a 23-yard TD reception from Hayden Nelson early in the third quarter. Nelson completed nine of his 15 passed for 187 yards and two scores.

The Scots righted the ship after the first quarter, scoring touchdowns on seven of their next eight possessions. Monmouth also won the field position battle when a pair of Joey Biel punts were downed at the one-yard line.

Kyle Schultz led the defense with 17 tackles while Thomas Lesniewski added eight with a pair of sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss.

The win improves the Scots' record in the series to 68-50-10 and moved them to 8-1 heading into next Saturday's Midwest Conference Championship game against St. Norbert. Kickoff next Saturday at April Zorn Memorial Stadium is set for 1 pm.
