Box Score Monmouth battled through a fall Midwestern rain in Iowa Tuesday, but came up on the short end of a 2-0 contest at Cornell.

The Scots outshot the hosts 12-7 and put more shots on goal (8-7), but the Rams found the net for the first and last goals of the match. Cornell took the lead in an evenly matched contest, scoring on a penalty kick just before halftime. They added an insurance goal on their second PK of the game early in the second half and kept the Scots out of the net.

Monmouth continues their road trip this weekend with a Saturday match at Beloit and a Sunday contest at Lake Forest.
