Box Score 2 Monmouth equaled their longest win streak of the season with an 18-10, 12-6 sweep of Knox in Galesburg Sunday afternoon.

The Fighting Scots banged out 21 hits in the opener and scored 12 runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
Lucas Giertz jacked a two-run homer in the sixth as the Scots scored four runs to take a 6-4 lead. Monmouth batted around in the seventh when all but one batter reached base in the six-run inning. The Scots piled on six more runs in the eighth to give
Connor McDonald the win as
Ryan Sparks and
Bryson Sheppard each went 4-for-6 with Sparks scoring four times.
Nic Stevens added four RBIs in the opener.

Monmouth added another six-run inning in the nightcap to complete the sweep. Trailing 6-5 in the eighth, the Scots put their first four batters aboard, including a two-run base hit from pinch-hitter
Dayton Ince to put Monmouth ahead 7-6. Another two-run single from Stevens gave the Scots insurance runs for their fifth straight win.
