Box Score Monmouth scored on their first six possessions en route to a perfect season and a 57-9 win over Knox to win the coveted Bronze Turkey Trophy for the 18
th straight time. The outcome also clinched the Midwest Conference title and the automatic NCAA Playoff berth that goes with it.

After the Scots held the Prairie Fire to a three-and-out on the game's opening possession, the MWC Champs constructed a six-play, 61-yard drive capped by a
Tanner Matlick to
Yansay Williams 35-yard TD pass – one of four TDs by Williams who finished with seven catches for 153 yards. Matlick's strike was the first of five scoring passes on the day for the senior who completed 13 of 18 throws for 179 yards.

Trent Rains and
DeAndre Wright got in on the scoring with one-yard touchdown runs before Matlick hit Williams with a 17-yard strike and
Jacolby Maxwell with a 10-yarder for a 37-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Leading 51-9 in the fourth quarter, freshmen kicker
Joey Biel nearly etched his name in the record book. The left-footer hit a 47-yard field goal and then connected on a 50-yarder, just one yard shy of the Scots' record.

Monmouth's defense again turned in a stellar effort. Led by
Matt Barnes and
D.J. Frank who each recorded a game high nine tackles, the Scots held Knox to just 123 yards.

Sunday evening the Scots will learn the identity of their first round opponent in next Saturday's 1
st Round of the NCAA Playoffs. It's Monmouth's fifth trip to the playoffs since 2005 and the just the ninth time in the 124 years of the program to finish the regular season unbeaten.
