The Fighting Scots jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back as
DeAndre Wright – who rushed for 109 yards on just four carries – scored two of his three TDs in the opening frame. Wright hauled in the first of
Tanner Matlick's four touchdown passes on the day for a 33-yard score on Monmouth's first possession. A Matlick to
Yansay Williams TD throw covered 33 yards to cap a 92-yard drive on Monmouth's next possession.

Matlick finished 8-for-8 passing for 241 yards, hitting
Jacolby Maxwell for 111 yards and two scores. Maxwell's two second quarter touchdowns and an
Austin Ray 31-yard run for a TD gave the Scots a 49-0 lead.

Monmouth, which pulled their starters in the second half, added a third quarter score when
Hayden Nelson found
Kevin Clark for a six-yard  catch-and-run.
Josh Talley capped Monmouth's scoring with a five-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter.
