Box Score 2 The Fighting Scots turned the tables on division leader Illinois College Thursday afternoon. Monmouth banged out 16 hits in a 12-5 win over IC in the nightcap after dropping the opener 12-6.

Monmouth banged out 16 hits in the late game and broke it open with a six-run eighth inning. Nursing a 6-4 lead, the Scots batted around as five of their first six batters reached base.
Ryan Sparks picked up the win with five solid innings on the mound and helped himself at the plate with a 3-for-6 day.

Back-to-back errors in the fourth inning of Game 1 led to an eight-run fourth for the Blueboys as they broke a 4-4 tie following Monmouth's three-run top of the fourth.
Sawyer Shaw came on late in the fourth to extinguish the Blueboy threat and surrendered just two hits and no runs in the final 4.1 innings.

The split kept the Scot in third place in the South Division. The two teams will meet again at noon on Sunday at Glasgow Field. The game was pushed back from Saturday due to the threat of inclement weather on Saturday.
