Box Score A five-run sixth sent Monmouth down to a 6-4 loss to Elms Monday in Ft. Myers, Fla.
 
The Scots took an early lead when Raahsaan Fox drove in Ryan Sparks with a base hit in the first inning. Logan Smith piled on another run in the bottom of the second with a double to plate Matt Zhorne.
 
Leading 2-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, the Scots added an insurance run when Sparks reached on a basehit and moved to third on a single and a hit batsman. He then crossed the plate on a passed ball to give Monmouth a 3-0 lead.
 
Elms countered with five runs in the sixth as they touched starter Dillon Frieden for five runs.
 
Monmouth closed to within one in the sevenths, but could get no closer.
