Bats hot, but Scots fall in extras

Box Score The Scots banged out 13 hits, but couldn't overcome five errors in an 11-10 loss in 11 innings at Iowa Wesleyan.

Leading 5-3 in the top of the sixth, Monmouth scored five times including a leadoff homer from Alex Kemmer. Iowa Wesleyan answered in the bottom of the frame thanks to three Monmouth errors. The Tigers put three of their first four batters on thanks to the miscues and plated seven runs in the frame to knot the game at 10-10.

Both teams' bullpens held serve until the 11th when IWC induced a two-out walk and then scored with a single to left field.

Ryan Sparks and Jesse Brucker paced Monmouth's offense with three hits each wile Blake Abbott knocked in three runs. Alex Temple suffered the loss for Monmouth in relief.
