Box Score 2 Monmouth slammed five homeruns on the day as the Scots swept Blackburn 15-5, 12-6 at Glasgow Field.

Raahsaan Fox was just a double away from hitting for the cycle in Game 1.
Jesse Brucker's solo homer in the first gave the Scot a quick 1-0 lead and a two-run shot by Fox in the second put Monmouth up 3-0.

After the Beavers scratched out a run in the third,
Ryan Sparks hit his first of two round-trippers on the day in the bottom of the inning. The Scots added four more in the fourth as Brucker knocked in two more runs with a double.

Alex Kemmer ended the first game homerun barrage with a two-run shot in the sixth to push Monmouth to a 13-2 lead. Blackburn then touched the Scots for three runs in the seventh with a three-run homer of their own.
Lucas Giertz got one of the runs back in the seventh when he picked up his second hit of the game and moved to second on Sparks' base hit. Giertz then raced home on back-to-back wild pitches. Fox ended the game via the mercy rule with a run scoring triple in the eighth to give
Joe Kerulis his first win of the season.

The Scots used an eight-run third highlighted by Sparks' grand slam to run by the Beavers in the nightcap. After
Alex Kemmer struck out and Sparks was caught stealing to open the inning, the Scots banged out nine straight hits to jump out to a 10-0 lead.

The Beavers rallied late, but couldn't make up the difference in
Austin Hardy's second win.

Sparks and Fox finished the day with six RBIs each.
