Baseball scores early, but falls to Big Blue

Box Score Monmouth took advantage early, but Millikin came back to hang a 12-3 loss on the Scots in Ft. Myers, Fla.
 
Austin Hardy got the scoring started in the second inning, picking up his first of three hits on the day. After a walk to Alex Temple, Dayton Ince delivered a two-run double to stake Monmouth to a 2-0 lead. Monmouth added another run in the third when Ryan Sparks reached on an error, stole second and then came home on Hardy's second hit of the game.
 
Millikin countered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning and piled on five more runs over the next three innings. The Big Blue capped the game with a five-run eighth to put the game away.
