Box Score Alex Sheppard got Monmouth rolling with a pick six en route to a 31-7 win at Lake Forest.
Sheppard's 23 yard interception return for a touchdown put the Scots on top midway throught the first quarter. The defense kept kept rolling as
Jacob Wilson also had a pick - his 15th career interception which breaks the career interception record - and held the Forester scoreless until the final 11 seconds of play, holding the Foresters to just 183 yards of offense.

Freshman quarterback
Alec Dutko took the reigns late in the second quarter and connected on a a 22 yard touchdown pass to
Raysean Parker on his first attempt to give Monmouth a 17-0 lead.Â
After a scoreless third quarter, a couple of big first down receptions from CJ Shields and
Raysean Parker kept the chains moving. The drive was finished off by
Trent Rains on a 7 yard touchdown run to pull ahead 24-0.
The Forester's ensuing possession came to an abrupt halt when Wilson's recorded his record-setting pick. The Scots then got strong runs by
Trent Rains and
KeShon Young to eat up four minutes of the clock. Young's 10-yard TD run capped off the drive.
Dutko finished with 120 yards and one touchdown on 13 of 18 passing with two interceptions. Rains rolled up 105 yards rushing.
