Box Score Monmouth answered a quick North Park goal in the second half, but NPU got the game-winner to hand the Scots a season-opening loss.

After a scoreless first half, the Vikings took little time getting on the boards in the 46^th minute. The Scots answered just 30 seconds later when Alex Kuykendall deposited a Lauren Kellen pass into the back of the net to knot it up at 1-1.

The teams played even over the next 20 minutes before NPU found the game-winner, knocking in the goal off a rebound from a corner kick.

Samantha Barranco made eight saves in the match as the teams were nearly even statistically.
