Ray Gerard homered in Game 1 and drove in the tying run the following inning before the Blueboys tookthe lead for good with a four-run third. The Scots scratched out another run in the fifth to cut it to 6-3, but could get no closer. IC tacked on five more runs in the seventh and eighth innings to offset the Scots' eight hits.

After surrendering a pair of first inning runs in Game 2, the Scots settled in as Gerard kept the Blueboys scoreless over the next three innings. Nick Humphrey's groundout in the second plated Mitch Comstock and Matt Glenn's sac fly the following inning drove home Ryan Crandall as the Scots knotted the game at 2-2. Illinois College took advantage of three hits and an interference call in the fifth to score the decisive run.
