Box Score Monmouth fought back from an 8-2 hole, but couldn’t quite overcome ranked Illinois Wesleyan, falling 8-5 at Glasgow Field.

The Titans broke through with a five-run sixth before the Scots’ late rally. Brody Welker opened the Monmouth eighth by drawing a leadoff walk and Brandon Harroun and Chase Bair followed with  base hits as the Scots put their first seven batters on, but could only score three runs.

Alex Temple went 3-for-4 in the game with an eighth inning RBI and tossed 1.2 innings of scoreless ball.
