Box Score Monmouth staged a furious rally in the top of the ninth, but fell 7-5 to Lakeland in Ft. Myers, Fla.
 
Trailing 7-1 with one inning left, the Scots' Nick Humphrey opened their half of the frame with a single. After a strikeout, Mitch Comstock milked a walk and Ryan Crandall singled to set the stage for the big inning. Humphrey raced home on Alex Kemmer's fielder's choice as Monmouth chipped away.
 
Matt Glenn followed with an RBI hit and two runs scored when Jesse Brucker doubled. Trailing 7-5, the Scots loaded the bases with two outs, but fell when Lakeland fanned Humphrey to end the game.
