Scots pull away from Beloit in 4th quarter

Box Score Beloit scored first, but Monmouth scored the most in a 31-14 win by the Scots in the Midwest Conference season-opener.
The Bucs took advantage of a Scots' fumble on their first possession and needed to drive just 14 yards for a quick 7-0 lead. The Scots' Ace Hendricks put Monmouth on the boards with a 25-yard field goal just before the first quarter ended. Monmouth took the lead early in the second period when Trey Youcm rushed in from 16 yards out as the Scots took a 10-7 lead into the locker room.
Beloit marched downfield on their first second half possession and capped a 75-yard scoring drive with their final TD of the day before the Scots scored the last three TDs, including a 24-yard catch and run from Brik Wedekind to Spencer Brown at the end of the thrid quarter. Yocum then scored his second touchdown on the next possession and Austin Peterson haueld in a Wedekind pass for a 12-yard TD as the Scots rolled to the win.
