Box Score Monmouth scored early and often in a 61-20 blowout of Grinnell. Alex Tanney hooked up with Mike Blodgett for a 63 yard TD pass in the first 18 seconds of the game and never looked back. Blodgett recorded 164 receiving yards to compliment Trey Yocum's 165 rushing yards and three TDs. Tanney threw for 355 yards and four scores. Even special teams got in the act when Shane Reschke returned a blocked extra point for a defensive score. The Pioneers were only able to get into Monmouth territory twice in the first half and found themselves trailing 45-0 at intermission. Monmouth's defense sacked the Grinnell quarterback six times and held the Pioneers to just 58 yards on the ground.
