Caleb Batson

Caleb Batson enters his fifth season as Todd Skrivseth's right-hand man in the 2020-21 season. Batson joined the Fighting Scots' staff for the 2016-17 season after serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater, McKendree University.

With Batson on the bench, the Scots qualified for back-to-back Midwest Conference Championship Tournaments, the first in 2017-18 when the Scots returned to the top of the Midwest Conference, winning both the regular season league crown and the MWC Tournament title, earning the team's first NCAA Tournament berth since 1990. They made a return trip the following season, punching their ticket with a win over the regular season champions on the final day of the regular season.

It should come as no surprise that the Scots witnessed Will Jones (’18) joining the 1,000-point club with Batson on staff. While at McKendree, Batson helped train the first GLVC scoring champion in school history during the 2015-16 season. Batson also assisted with the Bearcats transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II and was on staff for the first GLVC tournament appearance in program history.

Batson, who graduated with a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Sports Psychology from McKendree, currently resides in Abingdon, Ill., where he attended high school and played his prep basketball.
