Myles Norwood

Myles Norwood joined the Monmouth football coaching staff in March 2023. Prior to joining the Fighting Scots, Norwood was the co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Grace Prep in Arlington, Texas. During the 2021 season he was a candidate for TAPPS Assistant Coach of the Year. 

Norwood spent three seasons at Grace Prep after coaching one season at Argyle Liberty in Argyle, Texas as a DB coach. He started his coaching career in 2017 at Grace Prep and spent two seasons there as the DB coach in his first stint with the school. 

Norwood played at Purdue University as a wide receiver and defensive back. He earned three letters for the Boilermakers and was a DB starter in 2016. Norwood set personal bests in 2016 with 27 tackles, 20 solo tackles, and three pass breakups. 

As a standout at Grace Prep, Norwood was a three-time All-State selection and the 2013 TAPPS Athlete of the Year. He won the Texas 4A state championship in the triple jump in 2013 and also set the single-season school record for receiving touchdowns. Norwood broke the school record in the 40-yard dash in 2013. 

Norwood lives in Monmouth. His sister studies criminal justice at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada.Â
