Derek Brown joined the Monmouth College football staff in June 2025, returning to his alma mater as the Offensive Line Coach. Prior to joining the Fighting Scots, Brown coached at Lindsey Wilson College as the Tight Ends Coach for the 2024 season. He left Lindsay Wilson in February to be the O-Line coach at Knox.Â
A 2023Â graduate of Monmouth College, Brown earned a degree in Exercise Science. On the field he was the Midwest Conference Offensive Line MVP in both 2022 and 2023. He was a 4-time All-Conference Fist-Team selection and played multiple positions on the Monmouth line in his career. Brown earned All-Region honors from D3football in 2021, 2022 and 2023, including a First-Team selection in 2022.
Brown was part of Monmouth's MWC Championship teams in 2019 and 2022 with a NCAA Playoff appearance in 2019. For his four seasons in Mounmouth, the Scots were 29-3 against MWC competition and 33-9 overall.Â
A native of Pekin, Illinois, Brown is the son of Rachael and Gary Brown and older brother to Maxwell and Emily. He currently resides in Monmouth.Â
