The Monmouth College men's soccer team lost a non-conference game at Illinois Wesleyan on Sunday by the score of 4-0.
The Titans scored less than a minute into the game and made it 3-0 before halftime. They scored their second and third goals in a 90-second span about halfway through the first half. .
The final goal from IWU came in the 73rd minute. Freshman goalkeeper
Calvin Cotton (Hernando, Mississippi) made 11 saves in the game with seven in the first half.
MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Monmouth had one shot on goal, by
Nehemiah Coleman (Portland, Oregon)...Coleman, Cotton and Alex Franco (El Paso, Texas) played all 90 minutes…Shots were 37-8 for IWU and shots on goal were 15-1…The Scots used nine subs and 20 total players in the game…IWU leads the all-time series 15-6-4 with four straight wins…The Scots return to MWC action when they travel to Illinois College Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game…The next home game is next Saturday at 11 a.m. against Lawrence.
