The Monmouth College women's golf team started their season on Saturday at the Charger Classic, hosted by Carl Sandburg College at Lake Bracken Golf Course in Galesburg. The Scots finished. In fourth place with a team score of 401. 

Sophomore newcomer Leighton Trego (Monmouth, Illinois) shot a +21 92 to finish in 13th place. Senior Lexie Campbell (Earlville, Illinois) shot a 26-over 97 to finish in 18th while junior Hope Peed (Kewanee, Illinois) tied for 23rd with a 105. Junior Mylee Hansen (Pekin, Illinois) shot a 106 to finish 27th and senior Liz Waymire (Havana, Illinois) carded a 121 to finish 34th. 

Playing as an individual, freshman Elise Sullivan (Macomb, Illinois) shot a 120 to finish 33rd. Freshman Emma Probyn (Cuba, Illinois) shot a 128 and freshman Gracie Busboom (Plano, Illinois) shot a 139 to finish 39th. 

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Busboom, Probyn and Sullivan made their collegiate debuts on Saturday while Trego made her Fighting Scots debut…Hansen pulled double duty on Saturday, kicking in the football's red-white scrimmage under the lights…Monmouth has next weekend off before hosting the Fighting Scots Fall Invitational at Gibson Woods on September 12-13.
