Women's Soccer Draws Coe 0-0 at Home

The Monmouth College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 home draw against Coe College on Wednesday in the final non-conference home game. The Fighting Scots (3-2-1) put five shots on goal and picked up six saves from keeper Bronte de Zwart (Adelaide, Australia).

Mariah Hobson (Princeton, Illinois) forced a save just two minutes into the game and Morgan Kistler (Kokomo, Indiana) had a shot saved four minutes later. Kistler had another shot saved in the 22nd minute and De Zwart made her first save in the 37th minute. The Scots goalie came up with another save right before halftime, after the Coe keeper denied Molly Shook (Morton, Illinois) in the box.

De Zwart made two saves in the first 20 minutes of the second half and two more in a two-minute span with just under 15 minutes to play. One of those was a diving save to her right to deflect the ball out for a corner kick. The Scots came close to winning the game with nine minutes to play. Hobson fired just wide of the post and 40 seconds later, the Coe keeper made a great save to deny Kiersten Medinger (Silvis, Illinois).
