Golf Teams Compete at Fighting Scot Invite

The Monmouth men's and women's golf teams began play at the Fighting Scot Invite on Saturday with the first round of the two-day event. The men finished in ninth place while the women did not get a team score. 

Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) ked the Scots with a total of 156 after carding a 77 on Saturday and a 79 on Sunday. Cole Reavis (Buena Vista, Colorado) shot an 82-78-160 to finish in a tie for 28th. In his first collegiate event, Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) shot 82-81-163 to finish in a tie for 40th. 

Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) finished in a tie for 47th with an 82-83-165. Thomas Henson (Geneseo, Illinois) and Declan Flynn (Monmouth, Illinois) tied for 60th with a total of 178,  CJ Pugh (Abingdon, Illinois) finished 65 with two rounds of 95 for a 190 total. 

On the women's side, Annalyn Lovell (Oneida, Illinois) finished 20th with rounds of 108 and 104 for a 212 total. Lexie Campbell (Earlville, Illinois) finished 24th with two rounds of 116 for a 232 total. 

Round two is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Sunday. The men's team is next in action Wednesday and Thursday at the Blueboy Invitational, hosted by Illinois College at The Rail in Springfield. The women are next scheduled to play on April 22 at the Melee in Morris, hosted by Joliet Junior College.
