Tariq McLarty (South Holland, Illinois) was named the Midwest Conference men's swimming Performer of the Week on Tuesday.
McLarty helped the Scots to a dual meet win over Millikin on Saturday in Decatur. He won both of his individual events, taking the 200 freestyle by more than eight seconds with a time of 1:51.01. He also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.72 seconds to earn another 10 points.
McLarty swam on two relays, starting the day in the medley relay with a win. He swam the anchor leg in the final race of the day, the 200 freestyle relay. McLarty swam a split of 21.88 seconds and out touched Millikin at the wall to secure the win for the Fighting Scots.
This is the second week in a row the Scots have a MWC swimming Performer of the Week as Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) won last week on the women's side. The Scots will be in the pool this weekend at the Mid-Season Meet in Beloit, Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday.
